    student attachment

At KCA, we offerstudent attachment opportunities for university and college students.

    Internship Eligibility

To be eligible, one has to be a continuing student, preferably in thier final year, at the institution they’re enrolled in. We acknowledge that some institutions may require their students to go for attachment immediately after completion of their courses, to expose them to the working environment. In such cases, we do offer internship.

It should be noted that receipt of attachment application does not guarantee placement in the organization. It all depends on the availability of vacancy. This is mainly due to the large number of applications we receive each week.
    Payment

KCA does not pay interns during their internship.

Period KCA offers 1 to 2 months attachment period at one given time. This way we get to offer more needy students industrial training.

    Attachment Applications

Learning Institutions should write application letters for attachment positions for their continuing students or the students may write and apply directly to the Manager Training.

All applications should be made out to:

    School Manager
    Kilifi College of Accountancy
    P.O.Box 3025 – 80108 Kilifi
    Email: kilificollege@yahoo.com

    Internship Extensions
This is greatly discouraged and interns are required to clear with their supervisors in the last week of their attachment period. The supervisors are required to write to Training Division the duties and the responsibilities that the interns had so as to make the recommendation for them before they leave.

    Training methodology

Kilifi College of Accountancy adopts an experiential-based and student-centered approach in our training.

We believe that learning is not only about acquiring technical skills, it is also about learning behaviors that are desirable for work in healthcare settings. At KCA, our holistic teaching develops students’ personal effectiveness to function both as an individual and as a team player.

The course delivery or modes of instruction will incorporate theory and practical skills sessions. To enhance learning outcomes, theory sessions will comprise classroom based lecture that will intersperse with discussions, scenario-based, case-study, video clips and power point slides/learners’ Guide or lesson format.

    Training

    KCA modes of training:

    Classroom

The classroom approach is a very common form of training. Trainees are taught necessary skills by an instructor within classroom settings. This is a hands-on approach that requires face-to-face interaction.

    Virtual

The virtual mode of training makes use of visual technology to explain practical concepts. Online technology, television screens, presentations and films are utilized to display lecturers, exercises and other content for the training session.

    One-to-One
This mode of training uses the classroom and virtual approach to explain the task, how it is to be performed, encourage the trainee and assess his performance. This method is generally used to train new employees on a one to one basis.
